iGames Announces the Winners of the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Trial Activation and Marketing Contests

iGames is pleased to announce the winners of the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) Account Activation Contest and Marketing Contest.

WAR Account Activation Contest

The WAR account activations have been tallied and the winners are now official! Thousands of iGames exclusive 7-day trial accounts were logged by 105 participating LAN centers, and in the end, 3 showcase centers stood above the rest, collecting the highest number of gamer trials for their store size:

WAR Marketing Contest

We are also excited to announce the winners of the WAR Marketing Contest, which gave participating showcase centers the opportunity to film their Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning promotion and submit their videos to iGames’ YouTube channel for a chance to win one of 5 cash prizes totaling $3,500.

Of all the video submissions received, the one that was judged the favorite by both EA and iGames was the hilarious video submitted by eBash Game Center in Terre Haute, Indiana, which creatively spoofed an infomercial for one of Warhammer Online’s in-game weapons, “Harbinger’s Edge.” This is eBash’s second 1st place victory in an iGames contest, and the center will receive $1,500 for their winning submission. The top 5 WAR Marketing Contest winners will receive cash prizes, including:

Winners of Far Cry 2 Map Editor Contest Announced

iGames is pleased to announce the winners of the Far Cry 2 Map Editor Contest. New maps were submitted by players around the US and Canada during the Far Cry 2 Showcase taking place at iGames LAN centers between November 1st and 14th.

WINNERS & PRIZES:

Of all the submissions received, the one that was judged the hands-down favorite by the judges both at Ubisoft and iGames was the very popular Warlords 2 on Xbox 360 by Kyle Schnake, who submitted his entry at Galactic Force Toys and Games in Chicago, IL. His map has been played nearly 500 times in the two weeks following its submission.

Warlords 2 utilized the map editor to create a map that was visually stunning, unique, and yet still very suitable for multiplayer. The tower in the middle of the map, equipped with machine guns, encourages players to converge on that point from all sides, either to hold it or to take it over from the enemy.

Kyle wins an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT graphics card valued at $160 at retail, as well as 6 Ubisoft 2008 games on PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 platform (a total of $520 estimated retail value).

Michael Jewell from Fredericksburg, VA wins 2nd place for Xbox 360 and will receive 12 months of Microsoft Xbox 360 Live Gold access, 2 Microsoft Xbox 360 Live cards with 4,000 points each plus 2 Ubisoft holiday 2008 Xbox 360 games ($250 total retail value).

David Comer from Sioux Falls, SD wins 2nd place for PC and will receive an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT graphics card and 2 Ubisoft holiday 2008 PC games ($250 total retail value).

Twelve other finalists with the best map submission at their local LAN center will also receive their own copy of Far Cry 2 for PC or Xbox 360.

Congratulations to all the winners! All the maps including the finalists and winning entries may be viewed and played online either on the PC or Xbox 360 version of Far Cry 2.

Submission Date Extended for Far Cry 2 Map Contest

The Far Cry 2 Map Contest submission period has been extended to November 21! There’s still time to enter to win awesome product prizes!

Here’s how to enter:

1. Create a Far Cry 2 map (Xbox 360 or PC) making sure to name your map in this format: iGAMES EntrantName.
2. Publish your map to the Far Cry 2 Map Community.
3. Fill out this entry form and submit it to your local iGames Far Cry 2 Xbox 360 or PC showcase center (either in-person or by mail/fax).
